At the Kurihashi Water Level Observatory, the water level reached 9.61m, which left only 0.3m before reaching the danger water level for Planned High Water Level (Height of embankment to withstand water pressure). It was a situation where the Tone River could have overflowed at any time.Along the Tone River, rainfall recorded an average of 310mm in three days upstream of Yattajima. During the East-Japan typhoon in 2019, we opened 14 evacuation centers in our city and accepted more than 1000 evacuees. Since many of the evacuees came from outside Tatebayashi, several local governments cooperated to accept them. Based on this experience, I feel the efforts to reduce disaster risks will be further needed in all of society from now on.Four years have passed since the last hazard book was issued. In this revision, changes have been made in evacuation information based on the lessons learned from the 2019 East Japan Typhoon and newly designated Expected inundation areas for the Shinbori River and others. This hazard book has been compiled into one volume to include various information on floods, earthquakes, and civil protection in the event of an armed attack and may be taken from a multifaceted perspective. Especially in the case of floods, the “Expected inundation area map”, “Evacuation timing map” and “Wide area evacuation map” are shown. In the Back cover [Evacuation sites] and [My timeline/evacuation action] are listed. By filling that in you can have a complete image of when and where to evacuate.Please use this book as a tool at home to confirm your daily preparations and appropriate evacuation actions. In addition, please use it to make plans for district disaster prevention and as an effort for [Self-help] and [Mutual help].
